The harp has forever been revered for its ability to soothe
the body, mind and spirit. Its sonorous timbre enchants and creates an
air of tranquility. In addition to its favored role on the concert
stage, the harp has again recently found its rightful place as a
therapeutic instrument at bedsides in hospitals, hospices and in
clinical settings. Controlled studies have shown that live therapeutic
harp music at the bedside helps to ease pain, decrease anxiety and
stabilze vital signs.
Harpist, licensed psychologist, nurse,
author and editor of The
Harp Therapy Journal, Sarajane Williams, has composed or
arranged the music and shot and edited the footage in theis DVD. She
has combined her medical and artisitc talents with her love of nature
to help the listener to find solace in a hectic world. The
calming effect of her music is enhanced by footage of beautiful scenery
of the rural, greater Lehigh Valley region of southeastern
Pennsylvanaia, interspersed with life-affirming text. It is the perfect
antidote for a stressful day, condition or situation.
