Mystical
Journey, Innocence, Floating, Celestial Waltz, Blessings, Joyous Majesty,
and Astral Tango
comprise the suite that inspried this album. Those harp arrangements
are available in print.
Andean
Sunset was inspired by the sacred site of Machu Picchu,
"the lost city of the Incas," located high in the Andes Mountains of
Peru.
Adele's
Lament is a tribute to the composer's mother. It reflects
Adele's bitterseet dealings with the "victories," losses and memories
during her recovery from a stroke and subsequent adjustments to living
in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
Irish poet Thomas Moore set his poem, The Last Rose of Summer,
to the lovely traditional Irish air, The Groves of Blarney,
in 1805. Williams published her arrangement for harp in her music
collection In Brigit's
Garden.
Memories
of Santorini depicts the windblown hills,
whitewashed buildings, clanging church bells, Greek culture, Aegean
sunsets and the remnants of the ancient Minoan city of Akrotiri located
on the mystical island of Thira.
Awakenings
was conceived in a dream and written upon awakening.
